At ISU’s Film and TV Department, we firmly believe the future of the screen industries shines at the intersection of “interdisciplinarity” and “globalization”. As a new-generation image creator, you won’t just learn how to make a good film—you’ll learn to leverage technology and connect cultures so your work is seen on the global stage. In line with the university’s vision of “cross-domain innovation and global competitiveness,” the department has built a learning path that balances professionalism with innovation, helping you stay in sync with the world throughout your creative journey.

🍲 Deep-Bowl Course Outcomes: The Aroma of Hands-on Creativity from “ISU Little Kitchen”

Here, courses aren’t rote learning—they’re a series of practical challenges. Our “Deep-Bowl Courses” emphasize doing and thinking, helping students find their professional rhythm through real production. One of the highlights is “ISU Little Kitchen.” This class goes beyond shooting and editing—it’s an experiment that blends content creation with marketing thinking. Students plan recipes, shoot influencer-style videos, and design social media exposure strategies—linking visual language to data analysis, every step aligned with real industry practice. Through production, they learn not just techniques but how to solve problems with creativity. Each video is like a dish—what’s served isn’t only the final product but a carefully crafted story.

🤖 Interdisciplinary Learning: Creative Evolution with X+AI Technologies

The boundaries of images extend far beyond studios and sets.
At ISU’s Film and TV Department, we promote an “X+AI” interdisciplinary approach, turning technology into a creative ally and expanding the possibilities of art.

    1. 🎥 Course highlights include:

Virtual Reality and AI Storytelling (X+AI)
Students learn to produce 360-degree narrative films and visit the Kaohsiung Pier-2 VR Motion Theater to observe professional works. In the on-campus “Metaverse Classroom,” they further materialize imagination through immersive showcases, inviting audiences to step into the story.

    2. Virtual Production (VP) Studio

Through the “Metaverse VR Film Production” course, students practice LED wall shooting and Unreal Engine 3D compositing.
Today, AI is integrated into the pipeline to help generate virtual backgrounds, greatly improving art direction and post-production efficiency.

    3. Tech-Art Field Studies and Podcast Production

The “Xplorer Project” takes students beyond the classroom to venues such as the MR Theater in Kaohsiung and the TTXC Taiwan Creative Content Fest.
Back on campus, they use generative AI (e.g., Google NotebookLM) to transform field experiences into podcast episodes, turning tech-art into stories that can be shared.

🌍 Global Achievements: Let Your Creations Blossom Worldwide

The ISU Film and TV campus is already a small “international image village.”
Students from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macao, Mainland China, and Japan bring diverse cultural backgrounds and creative inspirations that mingle and spark on campus.
This multicultural environment expands local students’ global vision and infuses every project with a unique cross-cultural flavor.
Our internationalization is reflected not only in enrollment figures but also on sets and award stages—glimmering with success.
From narrative films and shorts to documentaries, our students’ cameras have already captured stories around the world.

    1. 🎬 Student highlights abroad include:

       Shot in Malaysia: 《嗨,女兒》、《巴利冰》、《阿邦》、《小白船》、《漉漉茶室》、《鐵樹開了花》、《如果大象不死》、《榴槤芭》、《馬來亞虎》、《甘榜男孩》
       Hong Kong: 《新界》
       Japan: 《雲霧散去的夏天》

Each work is a dialogue across cultures.
While shooting overseas, students learn to overcome barriers of language and systems, turning local stories into a global language.
