ISU Film BannerThe ISU Department of Film & TV actively responds to the university’s X+AI 2.0 Initiative, viewing technology empowerment as the future core of narrative filmmaking. To this end, aligning with the college’s development strategy, we have helped establish the Metaverse Center for Technology, Art, and Design, equipped with an Insta360 Titan 11K VR professional camera and an 8K color grading workstation. We also continuously carry out technology-art productions, VR narrative showcases, and real-time online performances—aiming to build a new media creation hub for the future.

In the Virtual Production (VP/XR) module, we offer courses that combine LED volume production with Unreal Engine 3D technologies. Students learn to shoot in a virtual stage (10 meters wide, 3 meters high, 4K resolution) and master workflows for importing greenscreen-tracked footage into Unreal for 3D compositing. AI is also applied to intelligent lighting adjustments in virtual scenes to optimize efficiency. For deep AI integration, courses embed AI throughout the pipeline. For example, in “Film Mixing,” students practice using ElevenLabs for speech synthesis and cloning, and Suno AI to generate film music and theme songs. We also place strong emphasis on technology ethics: courses guide in-depth discussions on AI ethics, and students even sign an “AI Voice Collaboration Agreement,” ensuring we cultivate professionals with foresight and responsibility.

In addition, through the VR360 professional camera, students in the “VR Production” course have successfully created immersive narrative works such as “After-Drink Beauty,” “Black Wall,” “The Prayer,” and “Don Quixote in the Closet,” extending the narrative boundaries of diverse stories.
