Collaboration with the Kaohsiung Film and Television Development Base: The
First Corporate Group in Southern Taiwan to Enter the Film and Movie Industry.
The Department of Film and
Television at I-Shou University was established in August 2011, aiming to
cultivate talent in the creation of films and television dramas. This
professional department emphasizes training in practical and creative skills
such as screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, sound design, set
design, film festival marketing, and distribution.
The curriculum also integrates advancements in media technology, using film and television as platforms. In recent years, the department has introduced VR360 narrative filmmaking courses and partnered with the Metaverse Technology and Art Center to offer a VR filmmaking program.
The Ministry of Culture and
Kaohsiung City Government have prioritized the development of the film and
television industry, establishing initiatives like "Kaohsiung Film
Production," the "Kaohsiung Film Production Assistance Center,"
and the "VR FILM LAB."
Since its inception, the Department of Film and Television has emphasized industry-academia collaboration, offering students hands-on experience through co-producing films, commercials, 3D content, and VR360 projects, enhancing their practical skills and industry connections.
I-Shou University aligns its
education with societal needs and industry growth, supported by E United Group
Chairman Lin Yi-Shou. Recognizing the global success of the U.S. film industry
and South Korea's K-dramas, Mr. Lin envisions "E-DA Film and
Television" as the foundation for E United Group to become southern
Taiwan's first corporate group in the film and television industry.
The Department of Film and
Television was established to develop talent for southern Taiwan's cultural and
creative sectors and to demonstrate the Group’s commitment to this dynamic
field.
We warmly welcome students
passionate about filmmaking to join us and embark on this exciting journey.
